Aquarium Service Tasks
Unless otherwise arranged, a typical aquarium maintenance appointment will entail:
- Partial water change (20 to 60%, as needed)
- Vacuum substrate
- Basic water chemistry analysis
- Water chemistry correction (if required)
- Clean algae from glass & decor
- Clean or swap (for clean) synthetic plants/decorations
- Clean filters
- Replace filter media (as required)
- Clean aquarium tops
- Clean cabinetry
Additional aquarium-related tasks can be added and customized maintenance plans can be arranged and will be billed accordingly.
Materials and Supplies
- We travel with full aquarium maintenance tool kits. If you would prefer us to use your aquarium maintenance tools, please inform us prior to the appointment.
- We can supply(at normal retail prices) and deliver(free on booked appointment days) any supplies, materials or equipment required for your aquarium. Please inform us at least a week before your appointment of any aquarium products you need to be delivered.
- Deliveries on non-appointment days may be possible for an additional fee.
Scheduling
Appointment Changes and Cancellation fees are based on normal, hourly service fees.
- Hourly rates are charged from the time we start looking for parking until the maintenance appointment is completed.
- 36 hours notice is required for all appointment changes or cancellations. A fee equivalent to a one-hour service fee will be charged for any appointment changes or cancellations made within 36 hours.
- It may not always be possible to reschedule appointments within a given timeframe.
- If we arrive and no one is home or we cannot access the aquarium for any reason, the full appointment fee will be charged. We will be available for the entire, expected appointment duration.
- If access is granted during the expected appointment time we will either:
- do the work we can with the remaining time available (if we have upcoming scheduled obligations) or,
- do the entire maintenance service if time allows and, charge for the entire time spent onsite.
- If access is granted during the expected appointment time we will either:
- The fees for unscheduled, off-route and urgent services are $50, plus travel time to and from the location at normal service fees, plus normal, hourly service fees for all time spent onsite.
- Weekly service clients are entitled to two unscheduled, off-route or urgent service calls per year without the $50 or travel charges.
- Biweekly service clients are entitled to one unscheduled, off-route and urgent service call(s) per year without the $50 or travel charges.
Payment
- Payment can be made via (on-file) credit card.
- To confirm appointments, please ensure that we have credit card information on file well ahead of time.
- Manual payments made via any other method will incur an admin charge and prepayment of the minimum appointment fee will be required to book the appointment.
- Sorry, we do not accept cash payments.
- Payment in full is due upon receipt of the invoice at the end of the appointment. Payments will be billed automatically.
- An administration fee of $25 will be charged for dealing with any declined charges or other problems with payments. An administration fee of $25 will be charged for each weekly reminder we have to send regarding overdue payments.
Indemnification
You acknowledge that having a glass box filled with a volume of water (aquarium) on their premises carries with it an element of risk of leaks and spills. You accept any and all risks associated with having an aquarium on their premises.
